The most frequent question I get asked is where do I get my photos. Photos are always needed for social media posts, blog graphics, and for any of your visual content needs. I’m not a photographer therefore I have to find photo sites.
Not just any photos, AMAZING photos and on the cheap. When I say on the cheap, I mean F.R.E.E. If you’re good at taking photos, you should use your own.
Everyone gets so worked up about photos because people aren’t sure if they should give attribution. When you see this below, it means No Rights Reserved.
Creative Commons Zero (CC0) means photos that can be used by anyone for any reason and may freely edit, enhance, and reuse the works for any purposes without restriction under copyright.
You’re free to use the photos without any attribution or credit on the images.
Okay enough of the licensing and legalities, let’s get to the good stuff. Here is my list of awesome photo sites for F.R.E.E. or may have premium memberships for bulk downloads.
Check them out!

If you have any go-to F.R.E.E. sites and they’re not listed here. Please let me know so I can add it to the list.

Great list of resources to get photos that you can use without worrying. I know a lot of people do stress over this with good reason. I also like to take my own photos and have been able to use them in my blogs as well, in addition to finding royalty free ones. I will definitely bookmark this post so I can come back to it later on.

Hi Lillian,
What a great collection of photos! I usually make my own with my own pictures and/or Canva. When we do, it shows up in Google images and is linked to your blog…just a thought lol.

Hi Donna,
Yes! That’s exactly what I do with the photos. These are public domain and can be modified however you’d like. Then I modify in Canva. Good to hear you do the same!

Wow. Great post. Thanks so much for listing these sites. I will definitely look into them. I find I mainly use Photo Pin. Photos are easy to download and they give you the attribution code to add at the base of your post. I am looking forward to exploring your suggestions.
Take care Lillian
