Purpose
Hi, I’m Lillian De Jesus. Welcome to the privacy policy for Tigerlily Virtual Assistance. I wrote it to let you know when I collect personal information and what I do with it. I’ll only use your personal information as set out in this policy.
I may need to update this policy from time to time. If I do, I’ll update the changelog at the bottom of the policy.
The information I collect
You may disclose personal information (name, email, and/or website) to me when you subscribe to the Tigerlily Virtual Assistance mailing list, add comments or other material to the site, or use my contact form. You don’t have to though. You can view the site and subscribe to its feed incognito.
People who will be able to see it
I’m the main person that will be able to see the information you provide. Anyone who may assist me with the site over time may also be able to see it but they won’t be able to share it or use it for their own purposes.
If the personal information you provide forms part of the material (comments, guest posts, or interviews) that you have submitted to be published, members of the public may also see it.
Who holds the information
I will hold the information. Tigerlily Virtual Assistance is hosted by Siteground and I use MailChimp to manage my mailing list so those services will also hold the information, on my behalf.
How I’ll use the information
I’ll only use your personal information to communicate with you, publish comments and other material you ask to be published and for any other purpose that is made clear to you at the point of collection. In addition to news of site updates, I may send occasional emails to you in relation to other matters relevant to Tigerlily Virtual Assistance or its audience. You’ll be able to unsubscribe from my email list at any time, no questions asked.
I won’t disclose your personal information to third parties unless I need to do so to defend my legal position or am required by law to do so.
How long the information will be held
I’ll hold the information for as long as I’m providing Tigerlily Virtual Assistance. When I no longer require it for such purposes, I’ll delete it. You can still unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time and I’ll delete your personal information if you’d like me to. Just ask.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
I also use CommentLuv to keep a blogging community together to access the last post from your website so you too can get comments if the reader is so inclined.
Visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service called Akismet.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on the website (for the Canva for Business registrants), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Other information and cookies
I may collect statistical information about visits to the site to help me understand its usage (this information is anonymous). Tigerlily Virtual Assistance and related tools may use cookies for this and other purposes. The cookies that WordPress generates for commenters are described in the WordPress codex and Google explains the cookies that Google Analytics sets on the Google Developers site. You can usually remove or block cookies by using settings in your browser.
Get in touch
Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to see the personal information about you that I have stored, or to request correction of such personal information, or if you have any concerns regarding your privacy. You’ll understand that I may need to ask for proof of your identity before providing you with any personal information. You can contact me at lillian@tigerlilyva.com.
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that I erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data I’m obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
